Prsa_web The West Michigan chapter of PRSA is hosting two fall programs that should be on your PDA.

Thursday, October 25 is the Nonprofit Workshop. Despite the name, this 1/2 day event offers ideas you can use in communications across a range of industries and organizations: crisis management, media relations, event planning, online communications, writing and strategic planning. 8 a.m.-12 p.m., $60 per person.

Here's an alternate Opening Day activity on November 15: "Life Sciences 2.0." Learn about several organizations putting West Michigan on the map as a global destination for life sciences.

Q&A with the ambassador

On Oct. 24, the Grand Rapids Press Club features remarks and Q&A with Peter Secchia, former US ambassador to Italy as well as friend and advisor to presidents (yes, they would be Republicans). His financial backing of the new Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids has earned the opportunity to name the building The Secchia Center. Find out more about Peter's interest and investment in the Medical Mile during "A Prescription for Growth."
